Today was a special day in our classroom — it was Planting Day! The children were excited as they walked in and saw small pots, soil, and tools all laid out. There was a sense of curiosity in the air as we began our gardening activity, inspired by Bunny and Bilal’s garden story.

ðŸŒą Seeds, Seeds, and More Seeds
Each child received one special seed to start with. Then, surprise! Cikgu Ana came around with a big smile and gave out two more seeds to everyone. That made it three seeds each! We took a moment to talk about seeds — what they are, where they come from, and what they need to grow. Some children thought seeds were food, others thought they were just little stones. It was a great chance to explore their ideas and guide them toward understanding how plants grow from tiny seeds.

ðŸŠī What Is a Garden Bed?
When we mentioned the word bed, a few children giggled and said, "I sleep on a bed!" That’s when we introduced a new kind of bed — a garden bed! It's not for sleeping, but for planting. A garden bed is where the seeds will grow into plants. We explained that the soil in the garden bed needs to be healthy, soft, and ready for our tiny seeds to rest in.

ðŸ•ģ️ Dig, Dig, Dig!
Then came the fun part — digging! Each child got to use a small spade or shovel to dig little holes in the soil. They worked carefully, taking turns and making sure the holes weren’t too deep or too shallow. “Dig, dig, dig!” they chanted excitedly as they prepared the perfect homes for their seeds.

💧 Water Time!
Once the seeds were safely tucked into the soil, we talked about what they need next — water! The children each had a turn pouring just the right amount of water into their garden beds. We explained that watering helps wake the seed up and gives it the moisture it needs to grow.

🐰 Marking with Bunny
Remember Bunny from our last activity? We brought Bunny back! Each child used their Bunny character cut-out from last week to mark where they had planted their seeds. It was such a lovely way to personalize their planting area and make a connection to our story from before.

ðŸ“ŋ Planting with Bismillah
Before we began planting, we reminded the children to say “Bismillah” — in the name of Allah. It was a simple yet meaningful way to start the activity with good intentions and blessings. We talked briefly about how even small actions like planting can be acts of worship if we do them with the right heart.

ðŸŒļ Alhamdulillah!
What a beautiful, hands-on learning session it was. The children got to explore nature, practice care and patience, and learn responsibility. We ended the activity with a big “Alhamdulillah” — all praise to Allah — for the opportunity to plant and learn together.

We can’t wait to see the first sprouts peek out of the soil in the coming days. InshaAllah, we’ll continue to water, observe, and talk about the changes we see. Stay tuned for more updates from our little garden!
